I get that he’s kinda doing a SOPHIE thing but to be honest it’s not really doing it for me here. I think the only thing I really take issue with is that I think the vocals on Only Fans are not particularly good. Taking a no-holds-barred attitude to music creation Flume takes inspiration from a wide variety of sources and scenes distilling his sound into a melodic bass heavy. He got his first taste for producing at age 13 from the most unlikely of places - a music production program he found in a cereal box. Get U especially is fucking great and I think in part it’s because it’s so weird. Flume is a 20 year old beatmaker from Sydney. That being said, tunes like DHLC, Go, Love Light and Get U evoke that weird, exciting HTIF energy that I personally love in his music. There’s definitely nothing wrong with the vocal tracks vocal manipulation seems to be a pretty consistent theme across the album and tracks like Escape, I Can’t Tell and Hollow do a great job of exploring that while still being decent pop tunes, if not particularly exciting. My second album Skin is out today I want to thank everyone that helped me in making this record, through all of. Overall I think I’m ultimately going to prefer the tracks without guest spots compared to the ones with them, just because I think they allow him the space to be weird and not bound by traditional vocal song structure, which again is where I think he truly shines, at least for me. There’s also a ton of PC Music influence throughout this thing, which at least for me is a plus I think Flume is obviously more interesting when he’s doing weird shit, and even though there’s nothing wrong with Say It or what have you, I can say this album definitely kept me on my toes more than his more poppier work did when I first listened to it. This album at least to my ears has some relatively accessible stuff alongside a lot of weird shit that rivals HTIF in terms of out there-ness. In a four-star review of Flume’s ‘Palaces’, NME said the record see’s Streten “couple his floor-shaking, hit-making style with quieter moments of introspection, reaching new heights in the process”.Lot of thoughts on this one. I just decided to take the trip last week, but I made a little list of people I wanted to. who I’m a big fan of – but I think that’s the first thing that we’ve locked in. Though Palaces comes 10 years after his debut, Harley isn’t celebrating this anniversary with a third album. “I’m about to go to London to do two weeks of sessions, that’s kind of the first stuff, so we’ll see.”Īsked if he could share who the sessions would be with, Streten replied: “I think I’m doing one with Fred Again. By the time his second album, Skin, dropped in 2016 with features from the likes of Vince Staples, Beck and AlunaGeorge, the scene had their ears locked on Flume’s frenzied productions. The artist also explained that after Mad Cool Festival, he’d be heading to the studio in the UK. Some of them are trash, most of them are trash, but there’s definitely some bits in there.” Contents 1 Albums 1.1 Studio albums 1. “I’ve got loads of demos, some of them have got strong parts for sure. Flume discography Australian electronic musician Flume has released three studio albums, one mixtape album, four extended plays, eighteen singles and eleven music videos. Flume and Faker had previously worked together on the track 'Left Alone' from Flumes 2012 album, Flume. “I mean I’ve got a full album’s worth of house music that’s just sitting there that I just need to finish off,” said Streten. His self-titled debut studio album, Flume, was released on 9 November 2012 to positive reviews, topping the ARIA Albums Chart and reaching double-platinum accreditation in Australia.
